St Augustine is a cool town - I loved my day there and look forward to getting back now that my aunt and uncle have a second home just down the coast. It is a hot, swampy place, though...which means at least one gin and tonic a day is required for survival. The folks at St Augustine Distillery had me covered, and the gin not only was delicious, but was a perfect g&t base. Lots of citrus, plus a grassy, herbal spice that lingers. I only had limes on hand, but I'd almost prefer grapefruit with this in a g&t or rickey. Really nice stuff.
About this bottle
The St. Augustine distillery is based in Florida’s eponymous town that carries the title of America’s oldest city. All products born here focus on the region’s long history and proximity to a variety of natural crops. For the gin that means using a 100% Florida-grown sugarcane for the neutral spirit and their legendary citrus. In order to preserve the spirit’s freshness, all botanicals (including juniper, coriander, angelica, lemon peel, and cassia bark) are ground using a vintage hand-mill right before use.

A crisp, Artisanal Gin by St. Augustine Distillery in Florida crafted with 100% Florida-grown sugar cane neutral spirit, 4 citrus elements & a dozen botanicals; in a pot still. It has an aromatic birth with notes of berries, fruits, herbs & spices; while a crisp life adds notes of juniper, angelica & coriander; that led to a velvety death of medium length. May 2024
New to this particular spirit but I must say this is a great gin. Goes very well with a high quality tonic such as Fever Tree. In my opinion this is worth the $10 premium over big name brand gins. 4 years later and love love love this gin in G&T’s. Have purchaed many bittles of this for summertime drinks. 6/22/23
I was told this would be much less harsh than most gins... And they were right. I would shockingly drink this quite often. As I'm new to the spirit, I can only attest to the large citrus notes I achieve, in addition to standard juniper.
Well crafted gin, just lacking the juniper notes I prefer. Nice 94 proof! Lovely bottle and label, but at $40 / 750 ml not a vaule purchase. I prefer Beefeater 1.75 ml at same price.
A gin out of St. Augustine Florida with a classic profile of juniper and lemon. Dry w a hint of sweetness. Surprisingly good in a 5:1 martini w Dolin Dry and a lemon twist.
