Starlight Single Barrel Huber's Old Rickhouse Rye Finished in Grape Brandy Barrels

I usually find Starlight to be pretty good with barrel finishes, but this one has a bit of a harsh, youthful quality that overwhelms the brandy finish. This finish probably would've worked better on a bourbon; in retrospect, brandy and rye doesn't really seem like it would be a great combo.

Worldwide. 4.5yr 56.5% Dark grape nose. Slightly sweet but mostly dry rye spice. Tannic wine finish that lingers with an Indiana hug.

Slightly whelmed. Sharper than I anticipated.
