This whiskey is like a smoked candied lemon slice that’s been sprinkled with dried chili flakes. Sweet candies smoked lemon on the nose, the palate. Is peppery and the finish short and tart, with lingering smoke. I do enjoy the peat smoke, but the tartness and lightness of the whiskey aren’t to my liking. I much prefer rich and baking spice flavours. Adding some water make it a bit richer and sweeter.
The color comes with a corn goldish tint. At the opening the smell gives off a fresh bag of corn flakes. The cereal vibe is strong with corn and maple. The scent is multilayered with sweet perfume, fragrant dried herbs, oak and a finish of orange zest. The taste profile is cereal forward, tying in with mint and smoke finish. What elevates the bottle is the lengthy finish.
Nose: Strong notes of caramel and smoke with meaty undertones. Hint of grass. Palate: Fresh/clean fruit start with the meaty smoke coming in quickly. Still pretty sweet whiskey. Finish: Grassy and slight smoke lingering. Oily finish but pleasant. Overall complex whiskey that blends all together nicely with noticeable profiles of each blend.
The nose is subtly smokey with fruit and caramel undertones. The palette primarily amplifies those same notes, with the smoke becoming even more prominent. The finish leaves the smoke and fruit lingering without the caramel, but adds a bit of spiciness.
Aroma is deep and rich, berry and wood. Complex, smells aged. Maple syrup on top, wood and spice on bottom. Has a little tang at the end too, like green apple maybe. Chocolate notes, rich and enjoyable.
