Shirakawa 1958
About this bottle
Shirakawa 1958 is a limited-edition release from Takara Shuzo Co., Ltd., in conjunction with Scotland's Tomatin Distillery. Shirakawa Distillery was shuttered in 2003 after a more than 60 year history of producing malt whisky, though the liquid was also used for blends. This is billed as the only official single malt from the distillery ever released, the earliest known vintage of Japanese whisky released, and the rarest Japanese whisky released. The whisky is bottled at 49% ABV and has a recommended price of £25,000 for a 700ml bottle.
