Spirited Away 4.3

Day No. 23 Reaching the home stretch! One more to go! I was surprised to see a German whiskey added to the calendar. I was unaware they delved into whiskey making. I always knew them for beer. I was excited to try it and even more satisfied with my experience. The aroma started off with a vanilla cream essence. The flavor produced notes of chocolate, rye, hints of apple, caramel, and a prominent rye spice towards the lingering finish. A touch warm, but welcomed. A very solid dram indeed. I tip my hat to the crew at Stork House.

Review #310 Whiskey Tour of the World 2025 #14 Glass: Glencairn, rested 15 minutes. Color: Medium amber. Nose: Maple with caramel and apple. Palate: Fruit gives way to baking spice and clove. Finish: Long length with medium heat. Splash: No new flavors are revealed. Overall: 7.5/10 - Between the nose and the finish, there's a lot to like. The palate left me wanting more complexity.

My first German rye whiskey. Kind of odd to be honest. A host of flavor combinations so difficult to pin. Also a dryness develops with a hint of cherry on the backside. Will be interested in seeing if i find it on the local shelves.

Fredrink 3.5

Caramel, rye, and vanilla on the nose. The palate hits with silky chocolate and notes of caramel. A mild sweetness leads into a dry finish that brings rye and pepper spice.
