Stranahan's 10 year Mountain Angel batch 4

The nose is cedar cinnamon pear. Palate is woody, oak spice, apple/pear, caramel. The wood is up front and seems to drink a bit hotter than its proof. Spice lingers. Not a lot of ASM to be found at 10 years old, so not disappointed to find this at $75, which seems to be lower than SRP.

Beautiful honey notes and a smooth mouthfeel are tainted by the ethanol pop and a slightly bitter wood note. Sometimes those ethanol notes will go away with more exposure to air (looking at you--Crown Royal Barley malt), so fingers crossed this improves to 4 star land.
