Very good whisky, though I'm frankly surprised it's described as a peated expression. In PPM value, I would have to describe it as -2. It's barely even there. That said, it all comes together really nice: some walnut, a touch of lemon zest, some spice. And at 46% ABV you really get something that has great mouthfeel. I recommend if you can get your hands on a bottle.
About this bottle
Just like the 12 year old bottling of Stronachie, this is actually not distilled at Stronachie, but is produced to honor the long gone distillery. This replication is actually produced at the Benrinnes distillery. Used primarily in blends and in a few independent single malt bottlings, you will almost never see a proprietary bottling from Benrinnes, though one has been released in the past. This 18 year whisky is aged in both bourbon and sherry casks and released in small batches.

Vanilla, raisins and toasted cereal on the nose. The palate is fruity and bright with pineapples, lemon peel and berries coming through. The finish is sweet and somewhat short, but very good overall. Worth a try.
Green grape light vanilla bright. Skight funk on end short finish but nice viscosity
Sweet. Mild peat. Slight paint thinner. Spicy.
Sweeter and smoother than the 10.
