Clear, and thin legs in the glass. Strong juniper with citrus and citrus peel on the nose. Juniper is there but citrus takes over in the mouth. Mouthfeel is rather thin, and then bitter cinchona bark/quinine flavor builds. Long spicy peppery and dry finish. I really like the regular Chapter One London Dry--one of the best all around I've tasted. This one has the 114 proof navy strength punch, but lacks something in the balanced flavor profile--kinda thin in the mouth and then spicy bitter in the finish.

About this bottle
This navy-strength gin uses a different botanical recipe than the distillery's London Dry Gin. It is made removing the grains of paradise and cubeb berry from that recipe and including cassia bark and fresh lime & grapefruit peel instead. Bottled at a navy-strength of 114 proof. This is considered the "fiction masterpiece" for the brand.
