About this bottle

This straight bourbon release from Templeton Distillery is not only the first bourbon released by the brand, but it's the first bottling from the brand that was distilled onsite at its facility in Iowa. Templeton used a high-rye mash bill (55% locally-sourced corn, 40% rye, 5% malted barley). After maturation, it was bottled at 46% ABV without chill-filtration. Availability begins April 2024 nationwide and in select international markets. (SRP $39.99)

AnttiRG 4.0

An intense, Bourbon Whiskey by Templeton Rye Distillery in Iowa crafted with a mash bill of 55% Corn, 40% Rye & 5% Malted Barley, aged in flame-charred American Oak barrels for a minimum of 4 years before being bottled at 46.0% ABV. It has an aromatic birth with notes of grains, wood, herbs & spices; while a rich & bold life adds notes of honeycomb, caramel & vanilla; that led to a long & warm death with notes of toasted oak, cinnamon & rye spice.

Spirited Away 3.5

Day No. 15 Checking this one in late even though I did in fact drink it on time last night. My first impression was that this was a touch hot going in. It opened up with corn and a honeyed character. I patiently waited for more, but it didnt get any more complex than that. I did get a touch of leather at times though. Definitely good for making cocktails.

sunfloweria 3.5

I love Templeton Rye and buy pretty much everything they release. Their much anticipated first release of product distilled in Iowa is as expected, a little lacking. Light mouthfeel, tastes young and doesn’t quite have the depth needed for a stand alone bourbon that can be drank neat. It may be relegated to the shelf for making cocktails.

Fredrink 3.5

Sweet corn on the nose. An oily yet light and sweet palate of sweet corn and hints of honey. There's a mild spice throughout the dram, which adds a nice warmth. The finish is ok and brings notes of malted barley and vanilla.

Advent #15. Clear golden amber body thick legging. Spicy woody tobacco aroma. Spicy woody earthy tobacco flavor. Medium light body moderate warming. 7/3/7/4/15 3.7

CarpeCaseus 3.5

Sight: Floaters. Very mellow yellow. Smell: Sweet. Simple. Pine. Taste: Cherry. Corn flakes or pops.
