About this bottle

Tequila Komos Añejo Cristalino is made using 100% blue weber agave harvested from both the Tequila Valley (Lowlands) and Los Altos (Highlands). After cooking in traditional stone ovens, the agave is fermented and then distilled in copper pot stills. Then the tequila is aged in French oak white wine barrels for 12 months. Next the tequila is placed in a charcoal column to remove impurities and color. After this process, the tequila rests in a Greek amphorae. It's bottled in a blue porcelain bottle at 40% ABV.

Komos Anejo Cristalino is a very unique tequila. Aged for 12 months in French oak white wine barrels and aerated in greek amphorae this tequila delivers an extremely smooth and complex flavor profile. On the nose we recognize roasted pineapple, roasted agave, flashes of oak, and fruity components from the white wine. On the palate we distinguish a very buttery mouthfeel, roasted agaves, flashes of dried grapes, hints of jalapeño, with a dry mineral finish from the charcoal filtration.

Hefty vanilla on the nose, with an ultra clean and snappy agave scent. The flavor is exceptional, with a warm, slightly fruity, vanilla-laced taste experience. Hints of mint, cream, green tea and oak wood all add up to a well rounded profile. The body is medium-light, while the finish is long and ends on a slightly grainy note similar to a quality saké.

I dont see how no other review mentions mocha and chocolate hints on the nose and big on the pallet. Great tequila thats one of the smoothest. Komos was made by a master sommelier that stopped making wine and now makes komos in tequila Mexico and sources the wine barrels from Napa. Perfect for sipping

First time trying a sipping tequila. I was pleasantly surprised by the smoothness as it first touched the palette. Definitely tequila but with a subtle sweetness. I picked up mild notes of vanilla. I’m a bourbon guy but what a refreshing change up. Very nice.

Nose: Briney, roasted agave, white pepper Taste: salty, loads of minerality Overall: taste great, very unique. A nice change from all of the sweet tequilas that are out.

Its excellent. Worth the price of the bottle, not the price of the shot.
