About this bottle

Puntas refers to a thin cut in the distillation process taken from the end of the heads and the beginning of the heart. Traditionally, this cut is set aside for the distiller to enjoy with their friends and family. For this 2023 release, two high proof cuts were blended and then proofed to 106 proof. Like all other Tequila Ocho bottlings, this tequila was made from a single estate. Here, the agaves were harvested from Rancho Mesa Colorada, located 28 kilometers from the brand's new home at Tequilera Los Alambiques. This additive-free tequila is available beginning October 2023 with the US getting 1,100 cases. (SRP $74.99)

GoodSpiritsNews 4.5

A remarkably lively nose, with elements of sour cream frosting, vegetal grassiness, birch beer, and dark cherry preserves. On the palate, the higher proof brings a heavier take on the Blue Weber, giving it a deeper and richer assurance. The flavor is rich, evocative, and somewhat rustic, but ultimately clean and expressive. The body is medium-heavy, and the finish is quite long, with a slightly smokey finality. Overall, this is a uniquely flavorful tequila unlike any that you may have tasted outside of Mexican destileria.

Did a side by side with Brix 11... The Puntas was more fruity in the nose and pallet The 53% Alc/ Vol was welcomed Drank very smoothly no rough edges whatsoever Very enjoyable nose, pallet and finish Balanced and bold An excellent high proof example of tequila

It is an excellent Blanco that deserves a place in the Tequila Hall of Fame. The aroma fills the air as soon as you pop the cork. The taste of agave and mint predominates on the palate. The 106-proof dances on your tongue. This is so good that I went back to buy more.

Very nice and flavorful. A little burn going down, but such a good flavor with the backend being smooth
