About this bottle

This product is named for a battalion of Irish Catholic immigrants who fought in the New York Army National Guard and marched in the city's first annual St. Patrick's Day parade in 1851. One dollar of every bottle sold goes toward the Sixty-Ninth Infantry Regiment Historical Trust. It consists of a blend of malted and unmalted barley, triple-distilled, and initially aged a minimum of 3 years in ex-bourbon casks. It then undergoes secondary finishes in a variety of single char, double char, oloroso sherry, rum, and port casks. It is bottled at 80 proof.

NOSE: Honied fruit, apple pie spice, copper, brown sugar and a touch of gummy bears. Soft and subtle, it has a sweet and round aroma that isn’t very expressive; having trouble getting much out of it. PALATE: Honied fruit, malt, banana, copper, spice and some biscuity notes. Soft, basic and unassuming, Fighting 69th Irish Whiskey is coming through like a pretty standard Irish Whiskey. FINISH: Short -> Banana, spice and copper quickly dissipate.

This was recommended by my local shopkeeper based on his acquaintance with the brand owner so I figured at $35 it was with a gamble. Nose is light and buttery. First sip follows suit with a light complexity of almonds and butter. The dram is very smooth and light with almost no burn at all. Do I love this? No, but it would be a nice entry point to Irish Whiskey for a newbie. Worth the $35, but not much more.

Very nice taste. Smooth. Great to drink straight. Sipping whiskey. Not overpowering, not medicinal. I highly recommend this whiskey for the price. This is a great addition to your Irish arsenal.

fosterthemorgan 3.3

Super light, but a real nice smooth flavor. Warm and sweet with that little Irish bitterness. Probably a solid cocktail whisky, though not sure what cocktail

goldenestes 3.3

Very nice smooth, orange, honey, grassy, clove on the nose. Taste is sweetness up from with fairly thin body and spicy lingering earthy notes on the finish

mrbenji 3.3

A light, "friendly" Irish Whiskey. Vanilla, clover honey, pear. Bright, smooth & creamy but complex. Lightly-spicy undertones and a long, spicy finish.
