A rich, Spiced Rum distilled in pot stills on the Virgin Islands & fermented from molasses crafted from sugar cane grown on nearby riverbanks. Natural yeasts are used to ferment the water thinned molasses, which is aged for 12 to 24 months before being blended with a range of spices, including cinnamon, ginger & clove. It has an aromatic birth with notes of heavy chocolate, coffee & cinnamon; while a rich life adds notes of caramel, chocolate sweetness, molasses, vanilla, clove, cinnamon, ginger & galangal; that led to a long & warm death with notes of vanilla, a touch of coffee & a hint of pepper. A whiskey-and-licorice aroma suggests a harsher alcohol burn than what actually follows. In reality, it’s very smooth, with a balanced blend of sweetness and spice. The mouthfeel is pleasantly thick, lingering and coating the palate after each sip. I did not pick up on the cinnamon or caramel taste mentioned by others until mixing with cola, at which point it becomes very apparent.
thick and rich right off the bat. Intense vanilla, dark sugar, and caramel which ends in a medium length spiced finish mostly cinnamon. Its a classic intro for many into finer rums, althought my palate is simply no longer partial to this rum. Its a step about morgan and bacardi thats for sure. Its a good mixer with a root beer as well with the dark molasses flavors mixing well.
One of the worst rums on the market. It is not a truly spiced rum like Blackheart, Sailor Jerry or Bacardi Oakheart... they use artificial flavoring added after distilling. 0.25* is best they have outstanding marketing, bottle and labels, however the rum tastes like dirty gym clothes smell, covered by a bottle of vanilla extract.
Strong vanilla nose. Sweet and boozy on the palate, molasses, vanilla and cinnamon. Short finish with a little bit of baking spice. Pretty good but wouldn't be my go to. Probably makes a pretty damn good rum cake though I bet.
