I’ve heard the 15 year bourbon was fabulous and kept seeing this in the shelf for about $55. I like ryes and thought, what the heck, let’s give this a try. The nose is quite enjoyable. A ton of spice with citrus and heat. You can tell upfront this is a high proof rye but it isn’t super overpowering. Some of the nose is sweet, like an orange citrus candy. The palate is really good. A great mouthfeel that coats in caramel and spice with a touch of heat. This really coats everything and goes perfect into the finish. So far the mouthfeel and palate are my favorite. The finish has a toffee note that combines with the continued citrus flavor. The finish doesn’t fade for quite sometime. The very end has a touch of pepper with the citrus notes. Overall, this is pretty good. I enjoy this bottle and happy I was able to try it. Would I buy it again, I’m not too sure. $55 isn’t a bad price but I do like other ryes better. I’m happy to try this bottle and even tested it as an old fashioned. Does really well!

Prideful Goat Single Barrel Selected for Bourbon Real Talk Plus 114.2 Proof 57.1% ABV Bottle 186 Purchased from Seelbachs Aroma- honey teddy bear graham crackers, toffee and apple pie, toasted marshmallow, fresh cracked black pepper,As it opens, I’m getting a bit more cinnamon and baking rye spices. Outstanding nose. Taste - Getting lots of toffee and fall apple cider donut notes. Slight note of bitter dark chocolate. Nice vanilla finish with a rye profile Overall - The nose is better than the palate. Viscosity is medium, finish is really nice. The palate is not complex, but not as spicy as most 95/5 ryes. In fact I would have never had guessed this was a 95/5 rye. This is definitely on the sweeter side. Definitely worth the purchase. This seems like a bourbon lovers rye to be honest (lots more dark tones than rye notes) 4.3
The nose was pretty classic MGP 95 / 5 rye. Rye spice, herbal and dilly but a tad of ethanol on the nose. enjoy the taste more than the nose. Classic rye on the taste. Not especially long finish. Glad I have it probably wouldn’t buy another bottle but will definitely drink it. Definitely one you want to taste before you buy as it’s not the cheapest bottle out there. Again, not bad just expensive for what it is.
Nose: cherry coke, pie crust, nutmeg. Taste: hot, cinnamon, cherries, bitters, black pepper (more cherry coke). This is a spicy boy for sure. Hot but rich and full bodied a solid poor if you can take the heat.
Spicy with not much sweetness (probably from the 95/5 mashbill). A bit of a bummer as I was excited about this brand, but in a blind tasting it came in 3rd of 3 up against Alberta Premium and Templeton 6 year).
Rich citrusy orange and Piney nose with a tangy, citrus burnt orange and light Piney taste. Short toasted orange finish.
