This expression is made from a base of the brand's Paradigm rye whiskey, a blend of their own straight rye with sourced straight rye from Kentucky and Indiana. It is finished with new applewood staves. It is bottled at 93 proof.

On the nose i get fruity and chocolate notes. First sip is not overpowering offers more bourbon notes like learher, oak, and char. I didnt get too many rye tastes but there is some black pepper notes and aftet taste. Ice softens this to the point of dulling everything. Not a bad offering but not an instant classic.
Nice hit of apple, wood, maybe a hint of apple cider vinegar in a good way, little spice at the end. Big flavor. Tried this side by side with Blantons which tasted like sugar water after this. Drinks very smooth like an 80 proof. One of my favorites.
Hints of rye but more complex with sweet apple and hints of BBQ. Very good for the price and one Id like to try again.
