About this bottle

Launched in 2015, this gin honors the legacy of Thomas Dakin, who began distilling gin in Warrington, England during the 1760s. Based along a major trade route between the industrial cities of Liverpool and Manchester, Dakin wanted to create a gin that would please both wealthy residents and travelers. Dakin's efforts greatly improved the reputation of gin after decades of being blamed the ills of society and as a result, he is often regarded as the forefather of high-quality English gin. This gin begins with a British neutral grain spirit which is infused with 11 botanicals for several hours. While the complete botanical recipe remains a company secret, it does include juniper, coriander seeds, orange peel, fresh grapefruit, cubebs, liquorice root, angelica and red cole. After a single distillation, the gin is bottled at 40% ABV.

Steve Smethurst 4.0

I took this gin to my brother's Gin Party in October, because I wanted something different. It did not disappoint. Another botanical that it contians, that you don't list in your description is horseraddish, which gives the drink an exceptional sharpness and and lingers on with a warming effect. All in all, a really good gin that I will buy again for another special occasion.
