About this bottle

This Rhode Island rum is made with distilled blackstrap molasses before aging at least two years in oak barrels. The distillers of Newport Distilling Co. researched the archives of the Newport Historical Society for recipes and traditional distilling methods and applied this information to the creation of their rum.

Richard Davenport 3.0

Tasted alongside Havana Club 7 Year and Ron Diplomatico Reserva. Light mahoghany orange. Noticeable vanilla on the nose, along with burnt marshmallow, which continues to the palate, along with orange creamsicle and a woody note. Decent length on the finish, with a woody, though not unpleasant, drying note. My favorite of the three, though this is a bit of an underhanded compliment.

jdkokot 3.8

sharp Carmel nose with a touch of seagrass almonds. almost like a mild cognac. body is warm and smooth, slightly oily with molasses, raisins, and green apples.

mrems 4.0
