I had this a couple of weeks ago but I distinctly remember that the apricot brandy had a massive influence on this. A touch of water helped to relieve some of the cask heat but at the same time amplify the flavours.
Really surprised with this one. Hadn’t heard of it and wasn’t expecting much but wow, this is excellent. Really enjoyable Irish whiskey notes and then the fruit kicks in at the end. Very good.
Subtle fruits and spice. The base whiskey is solid enough to carry through the apricot brandy casks. Tastes like your sucking the stone of a delicious apricot.
