Nose is vanille, dark toffee and a whiff of orange marmalade. Go too deep and the ethanol wipes out anything else. Palate opens with brown sugar and vanilla, but then briefly shows dark cherries and red berry jam before abruptly jumping to a barrel spice and cinnamon close. Starts smooth and ends a bit hot. This is a decent all-rounder that scratches that itch when you don’t really know what you want, because it (very briefly) touches most of the quality bourbon flavors we know and love. All in all it’s pretty ok, but for $50, there’s an awful lot of ‘pretty ok’ competitors that are both cheaper and arguably better.

Maybe it’s my nose today but didn’t get the usual defining smells from this one. A nice smooth whiskey with a little heat on the tounge that fades nicely. A full and somewhat thick consistency that pleasantly coats your mouth without any lingering except for a slight hint of fruitiness towards the end. As whiskey goes a good one to have around.

Fair amount of earthiness and barnyard comes through with some vanilla mix in kn the nise. On the taste, that vanilla is the dominant note and the proof really provides a fair amount of bite on the pallet. The finish is short to medium and nothing stands out. Overall it’s fine, but not one I reach for that often, nor would buy again.

Another Bourbon Share bottle. Honestly, just a bit disappointing. Had enjoyed their 1884 Small Batch, so anticipated this to be an upgrade. Nothing remarkable to mention. It's not bad, just not all that special either. Seems there are better choices out there at this price point.

Is it better than Jack, Wild Turkey, Maker’s, or any available brand at half the price? No. I didn’t find it remotely smooth, as many reviewers have said. I can drink it over ice, and it was fine after work medicine.
