I would say this is pretty perfect. Balanced and might even prefer this to the 2021 release as it is a bit tamed down for me. Not so in your face. Only flaw to me i could pick out is to maybe have the palate not be so one dimensional from a flavors side but that might be a stretch as this is great. Nose: Incredibly rich, big cherries, maybe a grape note. Palate: sweet, viscous, a little heat but not too much. Has some peanuts to it for sure but again just so balanced. Finish: medium to long just keeps going and going.
Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Coy Hill Barrelhouse 8 (2024 Special Release)
About this bottle
Like the 2021 and 2022 Special Releases, this bottling features Tennessee whiskey which was aged on Coy Hill, the highest hill on Jack Daniel's property in Lynchburg. However, this release was made with whiskey pulled from the 5th or 6th floor rather than the top floor. Aged just shy of 11 years, the Tennessee whiskey was distilled in September 2013 and bottled as single barrel expressions in August 2024. The proofs range from 122-137.5. This limited edition release is available nationwide beginning September 2024. (SRP $79.99)

Nose: seasoned oak, apple pie, molasses, ginger snaps Palate: explosion of apple pie, cinnamon stick Finish: seasoned oak comes back, dark chocolate, espresso, leather Never thought id say this but neck and neck with the 2021 release. Lower proof doesnt hurt it. Oak is perfect, not over powering and shines in the finish. 8 on the t8ke scale
A bananas foster and mint chip explosion. Nose: Cinnamon, Red Apples, Honey, Molasses, Bananas Foster, Mint Chocolate, Luxardo Cherries, Pecan Pie Palate/Finish: Bananas Foster, Mint Chocolate, Maple Syrup, Rum Raisins, Honey, Toasted Vanilla
I love this bottle! Big, bold, and rich! Give this some time to air out and make a quarter ounce last 4 sips to really savor it. It's essentially very rich JD dialed up to 12 that just hangs around. One of my all time favorites.
Nutty? Maybe a bit of banana, good amount of vanilla and oak. Very good, very hot. Surprisingly smooth straight, but needed to put it on ice to be able to taste it lol
Can't get much other than fumes on the nose. The flavor is... Not great. Syrupy, tastes artificial. Lots of proof, sugary sweet. Burn tail. Not for me at all.
