Nose: Cherry, almond, amaretto? Palate: Yup more amaretto with some oak and spice Finish: Quick finish but more cherry notes on the way down with a citrus and ginger note lingering. If this was a bit more viscous with a longer finish it would have been perfect.
About this bottle
Gatsby Reserve is the most limited expression in the Remus Bourbon family from the Ross & Squibb Distillery. Packaged in an Art Deco inspired bottle, the bourbon celebrates F. Scott Fitzgerald's 1925 novel "The Great Gatsby" featuring some of the oldest bourbon reserves from the distillery. This 2024 edition was aged for 15 years like its predecessors. Two mash bill recipes were used — 75% corn, 21% rye, 4% malted barley and 60% corn, 36% rye, and 4% malted barley. Bottled at a cask strength of 104.9 proof (52.45% ABV), this is available in limited quantities beginning November 2024 (SRP $229.99)

Cherry is very present particularly dark or black cherry both on the nose and palette. Starts tart like you would expect with Cherries and evolves in a short spicy/sweet and drier cherry finish. Very smooth and for cask strength very approachable.
Spiced oak on the nose, palate starts with heat, spice and oak and finishes with caramel and brown sugar, maybe a little cherry cola. Medium finish. Wish it had a little more body. A little thin
Very nice and tasty. Good finish, but a little bit of a funky tasty on the backend
