Review #60 - Brandy / Cognac #8 Aspect - Amber-gold, oily in glass, long legs. Nose - Alcohol, sweet, honey, woody, oak spice, toasty, nutty, grape, red apple, apricots. Palate - oily front end, honey, sweet, alcohol, very sharp spicy mid-palate, which carries towards the end palate (probably really quite young). Finish - medium, spice slowly fades away, leaving behind a dry, oaky aftertaste with dark chocolate, red grapes, plum and some raisins, perhaps with a hint of dates...and walnuts. Really enjoyable finish and after-taste. I can see why @Adriano_ (my dad) liked it so much! It is surprisingly drinkable and even enjoyable for the price (less than 20 eur / L). The after-taste heavily reminds me of a Remy Martin VSOP...really good! yet the palate is a let-down unfortunately...but again, not much to ask for at this price range. Young, more oak and less fruit than a VS cognac, and definitely much cheaper.

I never understood why such a brandy is so underrated!? It fullfills all my expectations from a brandy, to warm up my blood and let some memories on the back of my tongue. It did it for me so... I'll always be a fan of it. I must recognize that the price and the special-imposible shape of the bottle made me buy it, and I don't regret it. Oily texture, slight sweet caramel, a bit acidic, spicy, with a floral note that I cannot define.

Nose of permanent marker and tart raisin. Very unpleasant.
