This is the second limited edition annual release selected by the Stake F1® Team KICK Sauber. It's a 100% rye whiskey aged for six years in new American oak barrels. It's then "finnished" in OATH gin barrels, a brand owned by Finnish racing driver Valtteri Bottas. The gin is made from oats and apple peels sourced in Finland. It's bottled at 100.77 proof as a nod to Bottas' racing number 77 on the track. Available online via WhistlePig's website beginning September 10, 2024. (SRP $59.99)

Nose: gin botanicals, juniper, green apple. Rye spice, herbal, sage, candied ginger, caraway Palate: rye notes are most prominent, spicy, gin botanicals are here but more muted than the nose. Apple note is here too. Light caramel and cinnamon Finish: fruity orchard apple, cinnamon. Numbing.
Very gin influenced with the juniper and the apples from Valeteris gin. Smooth not too spicy very tasty
I’m not saying rye finished in a gin barrel cannot work, but this makes me skeptical.
