Nose - Sweet caramel, wet cinnamon, hint of mint, light hint of bright sugary sweet Taste - Fruity caramel, wet cinnamon, oaky cherry twizzlers Finish - Lingering heat, caramel, wet cinnamon, oaky cherry twizzlers Score - 82/100 Final Thoughts - I wanted to like this one more than I did. To be fair, it's not bad, but it's just not that much better than their standard bourbon. I feel as if there were some bad casks in this batch or something, but this felt like for a sauternes cask, it felt a bit overoaked and the sweetness of the sauternes was fighting with the sweetness of the bourbon and none of them really won. I was hoping for some nice sweet white wine notes to compliment the caramel notes, but all it felt like was wet cinnamon with a hint of oaky twizzlers. Not bad, but felt a bit off balance. Would I drink it if offered? - Yes Would I specifically order it? - No Would I buy a bottle? - No NOTE - All reviews are done without factoring in price.

The 2024 Harvest Release from Woodinville features their fully-matured straight bourbon finished in freshly-dumped Sauternes wine casks. This is a grain-to-glass release using grains cultivated on the Omlin Family Farm in Quincy, Washington. Bottled at 105 proof, the first 500 hand-numbered bottles will be released at the Harvest Release party at the distillery on October 19, 2024 followed by online availability shortly after.
