Introduced in 1838, this liqueur is made from 130 herbs, plants and flowers which were crushed, macerated, and distilled in a manner which is known its entirety by two monks today. I think the yellow chartreuse is a bit under appreciated. Its hard not to be when it's often compared to the green version. The nose is herbal with some nice saffron notes. The palate is sweet, a touch thin and features some spice and orange peel. The finish is pretty long with no burn. The problem with the yellow is that it feels thin when compared to the green. It's still very good though and works great in cocktails.

Green chartreuse is one of my favorite spirits of all time. Yellow chartreuse, as most have noted, has less heat and is sweeter. I also think the anise flavors are much stronger, though none of the herbal notes hit you in the face as hard as green chartreuse. I found yellow chartreuse very tasty, and am looking forward to experimenting with it in many new cocktails.

Like green Chartreuse, but dialed back in herbal depth and alcohol heat. More floral and less earthy and bitter in the herbal-sweet-alcohol ratio. Lower ABV but sweet herbal complexity make this another must-have for classic cocktails calling for a lighter touch.

A rich, herbal cordial from France made with sugar, 130 plants & flowers then aged in oak casks. It has a rich & herbal birth; while an intense life adds notes of saffron the primary herb; that led to a long & rich death. March / October 2019

Nose: citrus peel, various herbs and spices, anise, tree bark and jasmine. Very herbal on the palate, saffron maybe, lime, anise, thyme, mint, cinnamon?, ginger; quite sweet with some spice and finishing bitterness. Thick. Delicious.

Me gusta menos que la verde, pero igual tiene un perfil de sabores herbales muy ricos. Funciona muy bien para muchas recetas de cocteles, como el Chartreuse Daisy o el Alaska.
