About this bottle

1800 Cristalino Tequila begins its journey as an 1800 Añejo. First the tequila is aged in new American and French oak barrels for 16 months. Then these two tequilas are married and aged in ex-port wine barrels for 6 months. Next the tequila is filtered to remove its color. Available as of August 2020.

Emilio Jimenez 4.5

Being a Mexican, can tell this is real quality tequila. Nose is fruity and just a little wisp of that herbaceous note, perfectly balanced with the rest of notes like smoke, minerality, and kind of musty. The pallate is a BOMB, the 6 months in port casks really come up front, this is a complex spirit as it marriages in an armonious way the sweetness and raisiness of port, herb and mineral notes of agave, and the spicy Oak vanilla notes of the first casks all wraped up in a subtle, gentle but meaningful curtain of smoke as the finale. Go ahead friends, its a safe purchase.

AnttiRG 3.0

A crisp, Agave Spirit by NOM:1122 in Jalisco (Los Valles), Mexico crafted in stainless steel, aged in French & American oak barrels then finished in port wine casks before filtration & bottling at 40% ABV. It has an aromatic birth with notes of cooked agave, wood, earth, fruits, herbs & spices; while a complex life adds notes of banana, citrus, caramel, honey, anise, that led to a quick & silky death with notes of toasted oak, pepper, vanilla, a hint of Port wine & smoke.

This tequila deceives me. My brain says añejo is not clear, so I am expecting more citrus and young flavors, but at the same time, I am not getting the oak flavors that I expect in an añejo. This is a smooth tequila with little burn.

Great smooth anejo tequila. The charcoal filtering definitely smooths it out but it maintains a strong flavor. One of the best for its price

Suggested: herbal nose, less wood/vanilla, more sugar/sweet on palette Me: not much on the nose, but quite smooth
