On the nose, caramel, molasses, vanilla, honey, and browned sugar are up front and center with a slight grapefruit and orange peel note in the background. On the mouth swish, the caramel and vanilla strike hard on the tongue but dissipate quickly. Very few other flavors become apparent making this a very simple rum. The finish is quick with no ethanol burn. Overall impression: Nose 4/5; Taste and Finish 1.75/5: Overall 2.25/5 Repurchase: Yes Type: Mixer for Cuba Libre

About this bottle
Amrut, the Sanskrit word for "nectar of the gods," was established a year after India claimed independence from the United Kingdom. Since 1948, they have mainly been producing whiskies, but also release limited edition rums such as this rum distilled from 100% Indian cane sugar. It's bottled at 40% ABV.
