- first pour - it's definitely *very* cask strength - 120.7 proof officially but it drinks a bit hotter than that until the raisiny / wine finish influence comes through on the backend - very rich and full bodied - the finish of "slight tannins, apricot, and smoke" is spot on for what i taste as well - 4.5/5 https://distiller.com/tastes/1210005

Tasting notes I have read speak to blueberry compote. Almond honey. My family tastes pralines and Christmas cake. This is an over priced dessert in a jar. Never wish disparage art just suggesting the price point is off a tad. I would rather spend my money elsewhere. Maybe beginners who never met a great bourbon might start here.

Dhayal 4.3

Sweet and smoothe, with limited aftertaste. No syrupy notes that you'd get from more mainstream bourbons. Good sipping bourbon to keep on hand. Plus, the bottle design is pretty unique and cool - don't underestimate how useful that visual is for your home bar.

Sweet but, going into a tart grape nose with a tart caramel taste. Charred tart barrel finish. Not horrible but, not great. Got to try it for free. I personally wouldn't buy the bottle or order it. I think I might give it another try though.

Out of all the lighter bourbons this one has good flavor not actually worth searching for very good beginners bourbon

Very smooth and sweet. The port wine flavor really shines in this unique blend.
