Nose - very dark red fruit forward. cherry pie, red grapes, youthful graininess Taste - bitter grape skins, raisin and a hint of tobacco Finish-long finish, pepper, tea and more berry notes This is a weird one. The moscatel finish is doing a lot of the lifting and the whiskey doesn’t shine through. I get alot of youthful notes that can’t be hidden by the finish. Did not live up to the hype.
About this bottle
This Moscatel Finished Bourbon begins with Woodinville's flagship straight bourbon which is made with 100% locally-sourced grains. To finish its maturation, it is placed into 10 year-old 200-gallon Moscatel de Setúbal barrels (a rare fortified wine from Portugal). Woodinville previously released a limited edition version of this bottling in fall 2021 as a distillery-only 2021 Harvest Release. This expression will be released as a limited edition bottling to 23 markets in the US as of September 2022. (SRP $99.99)

Sadly, a very ‘meh’ finished whiskey. Heard a lot of hype about this one, so was excited to see it pop up at a local store. $100 that could have been better used for something better. I did enjoy the cask strength (59.3%) 100% Rye store pick. That bottle was worth the $65 price tag.
Hot, not real flavorful. Wouldn't order again.
