Fifth tasting of the evening. 4/5 bottle. Unusual bright taste. It's not like rum. Little radish aftertaste with burn. The nose alcohol tickles. I don't know how to evaluate this. Not sure about the score. Between 2.25 and 2.75.
About this bottle
The Arcane is an agricole-style rhum that goes about things a little differently. Besides opting for the more recognizable "rum" spelling, the fresh cane juice distillate is first processed close to the source on Mauritius, then brought to Cognac for another go in small alembic stills. This rum is aged a minimum of 12 years in a solera method using French oak.

Rich and interesting aroma. Fruit chewing gum, strawberry, sweet banana. Taste is not so good as nose but rich and not so strong. Aftertaste is soft and not so sweet, almost dry. Good sipper.
Sweet and smooth! Banana lollies with hints of chocolate, orange zest and few secret herbs! Interesting. Had it neat. Ice may ruin the stickiness.
Premier rhum agricole, bcp plus fruité/herbal qu'un rhum normal et pas épicé. Spécial mais de là a dire que je le rachèterais... Nah
Banana and coco, several flavours in this rum, not too sweet compared to some other, an interesting one !
Sweet with some intersting fruity yet fake tastes. Best served as part of a cocktail
