Bozal Papalote o Cupreata is a limited release mezcal produced and distributed by 3 Badge Mixology in Sonoma, California. It is made from cupreata agave that grows wild on the steep and rocky hillsides in Chilapa, Guerrero. To the locals, it is known as "maguey papalote." The ancestral process includes the use of the tahona to crush the agave, fermentation in the open air, and clay pot distillation.
