1949, Mr. Frederico Spézia married Mrs. Hilda Kraisch and, in the same year, consolidated another achievement: the acquisition of the still of his father-in-law José Kraisch. This union and partnership gave rise to Cachaçaria Spézia in the city of Luiz Alves, state of Santa Catarina, D.O. de Cachaça (designation of origin for cachaça). In the beginning, the family cultivated the sugarcane plantations themselves, grinding them to ensure the supplies. Later, the cane molasses was brought in carts for production, coming from neighboring neighborhoods by the city's settlers. The small enterprise grew and allowed the purchase of machinery to increase production and meet the growing demands of the region. In general, the cachaça rests for a period of 2 to 35 years in oak barrels, giving it its unique flavors and refinement. Today With more than 70 labels, it offers high-quality beverages, produced by hand, with selected raw materials and a 75-year tradition. There is no information about this Cachaça Spezia Premium and the producer's website does not clarify much about this cachaça. According to Brazilian law, for a cachaça to be called "extra premium" it must have aged for at least 3 years in a wooden barrel, so this distillate has aged for at least that period in an oak barrel. Cachaça has received several awards in spirits competitions and it appears to be a special series cachaça sold on request. The producer calls some Cachaças "15 years" or "35 years" but does not explain what that means.. Notes: amber color, intense aromas,.coconut, cinammon, toffee, vanilla, dried fruits, spices, almonds, oak integrated, long finish. Source Cachaça Spezia website.
