Light baking spices with none of the expected fresh cane funk, this is solidly in the dark rum category. Up front, on the palate, the long rest in oak has softened and mellowed the spirit giving it a smooth and medium sweet entry. As the flavor journey progresses, there are woodier notes coming out toward the back of the palate along with high, prickly pepper characteristics. Overall, this is a solid aged rum that makes for a great base in high end cocktails, or served over a single rock for sublime sipping.

So, this is probably too "complex" of a rum for my diminishing taste buds and nose because I can't pull a distinctive aroma nor distinguishing flavor from this rum. Bugger! Uhm... I think I'm getting a vanilla/honey-ish aroma. Flavor...very mild and neutral honey first and later in the after-taste. What's in-between is...?...rum 😆 It tastes like a good, mild rum. It goes very well as a mixer. Rating based on neat sipping.
03, Nov22. Sweet straw muddled coconut cream a little past its prime. Sweetness starts off the palate with a mildly tannic finish. Mid range India hug in the finish as well. Composted oak, pale stone fruit, saturated with cane juice. Quality cane juice rum.
