Review #31 - Others #2 The bottle has been opened for many years, with just some left on the bottom. Thus, there has probably been a lot of oxidation taking place, influencing the tasting notes in this review. Nose - Very pleasant, no alcohol smell, very sweet, with honey and caramel, reminds me of some bourbons, to some extent. Palate - Nothing like the nose, very strong alcohol burn on the front end...with no other aromas...on the mid palate it is spicy with an underlying sweetness, with some honey and caramel just as on the nose. Finish - Tastes like chemicals, artificial, with some weird sour note on the finish...sugary. It is indeed very cheap, but it is also very bad. I would never purchase anything like this again, as it is not only barely drinkable, but it also does not offer any complexity, just artificial elements. I know it is not intended to sip neat, but as a person who does not do mixed drinks...it is definetly not enjoyable.

A rare 1970s bottling of Captain Morgan Black Label Jamaican Rum. Captain Morgan is named after a Welsh-born buccaneer called Captain Henry Morgan who eventually became the Governor of Jamaica! It has an aromatic birth with notes of cola & lime, while a rich life adds notes of biscuit & port that led to a long molasses death with a hint of beer. January / April 2018

As for me it has the same taste and smell as Bacardi black. Only for cocktails. Average not aged rum.
