Neat. Nose is light caramel, oaky, vanilla, green herbal/anise, with a touch of alcohol. Taste is similar. Very sweet with light caramel, vanilla, smoke, oak, some pepper, green herbs like tarragon, and a little perfume/floral quality. Finish is pretty long. Tart, oak tannins, saccharine sweet, vanilla, black pepper, a little salt, a little heat Average smoothness. Not harsh, but a bite. Flavors are fairly potent and pleasant enough. Has a spicy/floral/sweet profile that's uncommon. Nice drink, but priced a little high IMO. Going to ding it a little for value since the anejo is a bit better for a buck more

Walked into the local wine store to purchase a bottle of white wine ( was making mushroom stragnaoff over whole wheat noodles, and needed the white wine for a reduction). I saw a mini bottle if this and thought I'd give it a go. Worst case: I'll end up throwing the $4 down the sink. Best case: I'll finally find a tequila I like. Unfortunately the scenario was the former. Two words to sum up my thoughts and review on this: Hell no.
An elegant Agave Spirit by NOM 1137 aged for 12 months oak. It has an aromatic birth with notes of agave, wood, herbs & spices; while a rich life added notes of caramel & vanilla, that led to a balanced death of medium length with notes of oak, pepper & chocolate. April 2016 / 2017
Consistency: looks thick and oily Nose: grassy, citrusy, agave sweetness rises Palate: bright, sweet, citrusy, medium complexity Finish: smooth but short, slight sweetness in the aftertaste
Light gold color Oak, agave, and hint of char. Agave, grassy, oak, a bit of sweetness in the flavor. Spice note and slight heat to finish
Butterscotch and vanilla, very close to Don Roberto, oak tannin and slightly dry. Excellent.
