About this bottle

This expression was distilled by Melly Barajas and her all-woman team in Valle DeGuadalupe, Jalisco (NOM 1533) using 100% blue Weber agave that was 9 to 10 years at harvest. It is steamed for 24 hrs and rested as long before crushing and fermenting in stainless steel vats. It is distilled twice in steel before resting in lightly-charred ex-American whiskey barrels for 8 months. Each batch is approximately 12,500 liters. It is bottled at 80 proof.

Neat. Very nearly clear. slight straw, not really noticeable unless next to a clear liquid. Aroma has some cooked agave, vegetal, black pepper, minerals, slight vanilla and oak if you're looking for it. Taste starts with slightly sweet agave, warming black pepper, vegetal, slight oak/vanilla/cinnamon and a touch of citrus. Finishes dry with that warm black pepper, some sweetness and faint vanilla/oak Overall, a slightly wooded and delicate reposado. Maybe the reposado for blanco lovers. Sipping duty only. The flavors would get overwhelmed in about any mixer and there are cheaper options. Give it some air time before tasting, the wood notes and more delicate flavors get a little overwhelmed with ethanol on a fresh bottle/pour. It got a lot better with rest. Cool bottle, of course. A little pricey, but worth trying if you're a sipper

đŸŸ First uncorking, let sit for about 5 minutes 🧐 Greenish hues, very light hay, legs are thin đŸ„ž Fresh cut grass, vegetal, lightly sweet, vanilla 😝 Sharp ethanol hits you hard and fast, a little pepper, vanilla đŸ„Ž Very quick finish, clean and dissipates

Good for the price, cool bottle is a plus. Slightly harsher than some $10-20 more expensive when drinking straight but haven’t had many better at this range

Starts smooth and relatively sweet, but, still finishes with some tequila bite that makes it suitable for mixed drinks. Good value for the price.

I didn't care for this one much. It had an initial bite that persists to the swallow. Medium sweetness, medium heat.

Very easy going reposado. Nice straight up, or with club soda and lime. Definitely my summer tequila this year!
