Quite simply, this Tequila is amazing. Add a few drops of water and give it a couple minutes to breathe then the fireworks begin. Peppery spice yet smooth blue agave notes are rounded by a flavor burst of vanilla and buttery toffee. It’s pure joy in a glass. This Tequila works as both an every day nip or a fantastic dessert sipper. Tougher to find than it’s quality deserves. Got a bottle in Milwaukee around $40 and was worth every penny. If you see it, don’t hesitate to buy.
About this bottle
Part of the Dos Lunas Spirits portfolio, this reposado tequila is made in Jalisco from 100% organically-grown blue weber agave. After double-distillation, it spends 9 months aging in both new oak barrels and used Tennessee bourbon whiskey barrels. It is bottled without any additives like glycerin, which is commonly used to give the spirit a smoother mouthfeel.

Smells nice, very light. I like it. Taste wise. At first there is a slight alcohol burn, not as smooth as I like but not terrible. Nice sweet flavor of Carmel or vanilla hits your lips and stays with you a bit. Little more of a burn going down that lingers. All in all not terrible but just a bit too harsh for the sweety flavors in my opinion. For the price surely worth a try if you see it.
