The nose is certainly more aggressive than the palate. The palate is minty and herbal with a weird toffee sweetness, a dosage of licorice, and a fair bit of smoke, a hint of grain, and some stale bread. It's interesting, but the flavors don't blend well. It's OK, but clearly more exotic than good. I could sip it if I had to, but I'd rather not. It's fun to try, but it really just tastes like a digestif. The finish at least stays fairly true to the start rather than becoming super bitter or tart. Some alcohol sneaks in here too. The flavor is full, but not great. I think the Alipus San Miguel Sola is a hair better, but barely so. This is interesting and complex, but that's about it.

Edition: 13, 2016, Ignacio Parada, 47%ABV The nose is piney (pine sap), super spicy, minerals, lemon zest, along with some vegetal, roasted agave notes poking through. Roasted agave is more apparent on the taste as well as juicy fruit gum, lemon/lime, mineral, and some tropical fruit notes. Finish is long, semi-dry, and a little soapy. This Mexicano has a thin body but is extremely oily. Alin-in-all: Delicious!
Not my favorite of the El Jolgorio range but glad I tried it. This one is mostly savory with a herbal and slightly funky character. No discernible fruitiness. 92
