Lightly yellowed color. Grapes, apples, floral, and grain ethanol, with earthy spice notes on the nose. Juniper followed by lemongrass, coriander, citrus, and a little ethanol in the mouth to give it umph. Creamy soft mouthfeel with a finish that is long, spicy dry, and yet lemony. Leaves a real tingle. I love the story of this gin and the company commitment to organic and local. But distilling kinda obviates the essence of organic materials (not totally, but the act itself alters them fundamentally), and not all non-GMO/organic-based distillates are necessarily great, but this one... wow! The distilling choices on, and the balances between, these ingredients is magnificent. Neat, with ice, mixed as a cocktail... you can't go wrong. This is up there with my favorites: Plymouth, Fords, Barr Hill, Sipsmith, Ransom, and Haymans.
About this bottle
Released in 2010, Farmer's Organic Gin is produced by Crop Harvest Earth Co, a distillery dedicated to producing spirits from organically grown crops. This gin begins with a base spirit made from organically and sustainably grown grain. While the entire botanical recipe is a company secret, it's known that the lineup includes juniper, elderflower, lemon grass, coriander, and angelica root, all of which, along with other undisclosed botanicals, are organically grown. Following distillation in small batches, the gin is then bottled at 46.7% ABV. Note: As of November 2022 the brand has revamped the recipe and released another version of Farmer's Organic Gin. This bottling listed here has been discontinued.

Great initial nose, with light juniper and flower tones coming thorough. After giving the nose some time, it did produce a slightly ‘off-tone’ that I can only describe as medicinal. A nice balance on the palette and finish, again light juniper that is evenly matched with elderflower and lemon zest. Most interestingly about this gin is the finish, with a unique spice note that lingers and gives the overall experience some complexity not often found in a gin.
This is a fantastic gin and has quickly became my go to! Not quite as juniper forward as a London Dry but because of the higher ABV it kicks butt in cocktails or a G&T. It’s light and delicious, highly recommend!
makes a great martini. Sharing top billing with the juniper is coriander and citrus.
Impressive for the $20 price, low juniper and burn. Impressively smooth
Herbal lemongrass. Lemon cough drop.
