The nose is a fresh stripped vanilla bean mixed with caramel and pineapple chunks. There is a slight peppery note, but gets overshadowed by the sugars. On the palate, the vanilla is immediately apparent. A burnt sugar follows making the sip taste of a Creme Brulé. The finish is rather quick but is super sweet. Further sips add a tinge of peppery heat to the throat with the sugars coating the teeth making the mouth salivate. This is far better than the Flor de Cana 12 year. Fantastic rum.
