Surprised but the low rating on this, it's a decently tasty, slightly floral mezcal. Outrageously expensive, but I got it as a present so can't grumble too much.

About this bottle
Gem + Bolt is a project started by to Virginian artists who were seduced by the mystique, history, and deliciousness of Oaxaca’s mezcal tradition. Damiana, a local herb thought to have a plethora of benefits including “endowing mythic powers in the bedroom,” is added to the mezcal made from espadín agave. The agave is fair trade, organic, and sustainable and no additives are added to the finished product.

First impression is its shit. Sweet espadin and a vegetal note that’s overpowered by a perfume taste. Is that damiana, vegetal and perfumy?
Nose: salty, herbal Palate: sweet, fruity Finish: smoky Nice balance of salt, sweetness, and smoke.
Nose herbal, smoke, lemons, flowers. Palate a little sweet, raw agave, flowers. Slightly peppery.
