Currently Reading: Impeachment: A Citizen's Guide by Cass R. Sunstein Agave front with caramel on the nose; peppery and somewhat citrusy for taste; some fire on the end, but rounds off on the tail end of the finish. I have long used this tequila in replacement of buying other brands some $10 to $20 more than the average cost of this bottle. I honestly like to drink it neat, but it does well with some ice and a lime as well.
About this bottle
Founded in 2012 by Colorado-based Laurence Spiewak and Lance Sokol, the double-distilled Suerte Tequilas are produced at a family-run distillery in the highlands of Jalisco. Following the distillery’s laborious traditional methods, the Suerte Reposado is aged for seven months in single-use Jack Daniels barrels.

Neat. Beautiful golden straw color. Nose is agave, vanilla, slight oak, earth, herbs, with a butterscotch punch coming at the end. Moderate mouthfeel. Taste is agave, oak, vanilla, barrel spice, cinnamon, and black pepper with notable caramel. Finish is sweet, a little bitter with some caramel oak tannins and some pepper bite A solid, no additive sipper at a very reasonable price
Suerte Earthy Repo Woodsy agave on nose that follows on the tongue A little ethanol that actually compliments the sweetness that fades into a solid vegetal agave The flavor stays through from start to finish Smooth Definite barrel influence woodsy cedar Very good very enjoyable Liquor
Meh. Underwhelming. Nothing in particular to make it unique or particularly pleasant. Just. Tequila. It’s not horrible, but I’d mostly buy it if I didn’t recognize any other brands in a remote location, or if all the others were mixto crap.
I get vegetal notes, spice and a little caramel on the nose. Butterscotch on palate is prominent first, plus oak notes, followed by vegetal/agave flavors. Finish provides heat before settling into agave/caramel.
Seemed very similar to the Anejo as far as flavor, just a bit hotter and less of a whiskey flavor. Definitely a solid reposado.
