About this bottle

Gran Coramino is a tequila brand made in collaboration with entertainer Kevin Hart and 11th generation tequila producer Juan Domingo Beckmann. Made with 100% blue weber agave, it's distilled at La Rojeña Distillery in Tequila, Mexico. After distillation, the tequila is first aged for some time in eastern European oak barrels. Then it's finished in California cabernet sauvignon wine barrels. It's then slow-filtered in a process Beckmann invented to remove the color. Available as of May 2, 2022 in CA, IL, TX, GA, and NY and then nationwide as of June 2022.

It’s backed by Kevin Hart so figured since he tends to deliver straight truth in a lot of ways this would be no bs good. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. It’s extremely average. It’s sweet with notes of vanilla and honey slight pepper bite on the back end. More specifically, for being a coramino I expected a very smooth filtered, complex tequila and all it delivered was what I can only describe as underwhelming. Smooth yes, but it’s bland and not complex so if you’re an aficionado you’re likely to be disappointed. For me, price to taste just doesn’t deliver, sadly disappointed.

A crisp, Agave Spirit by La Rojeña Distillery NOM: 1122 in Jalisco (Los Valles), Mexico slow roasted in brick ovens, double distilled in copper pot stills, aged in Eastern European oak barrels then finished in California Cabernet Sauvignon wine casks that is then filtered before being bottled at 40%. It has an aromatic birth with notes of roasted agave, wood, fruits, herbs & spices; while a rich & complex life added notes of berries, cream soda, vanilla, honey & toffee; that led to a crisp death of medium length with a touch of oak, caramel, cinnamon & white pepper.

Day 21 Advent calendar. Tried neat. On the nose it’s smells sweet and earthy with notes of vanilla… vanilla frosting and agave. On the palate it’s sweet and smooth and delicious with notes of vanilla and honey. Added a couple small ice cubes and with it chilled it just gets smoother and taste like vanilla cake with sweet vanilla frosting but not too sweet.. at least not to me! Tastes like an after dinner dessert drink. This is a yummy sipper.

I found it a tad sweet and fruity. Slightly viscous mouth feel. A great sipping tequila. Much too nice for mixing. Smooth. Low burn. More complex than simply agave.

Incredibly complex; moreso than the nose gives. Individual notes and flavors are tough to pin down, but very nice. Smooth and intriguing.

Nice flavor and finish, not as good as the higher end one, but decent for sure
