About this bottle

Each style of gin from Hayman Distillers follows a different family recipe but is distilled with the same botanical blend: juniper, coriander, lemon peel, orange peel, angelica root, cinnamon, cassia bark, orris root, licorice, and nutmeg. Production of Hayman's London Dry Gin involves seeping the botanicals for a full day before distillation. This classic style of gin was released in 2008 and is bottled at 40% ABV.

AnttiRG 3.5

A crisp, london dry gin, this was created by Christopher Hayman crafted from a recipe of 10 botanicals, including angelica roots from France, Cinnamon from Madagascar, Coriander from Bulgaria and Orris root from Italy, all of which are steeped for a full day prior to distillation to allow the flavors to release. It has a floral birth with notes of coriander, juniper, orange peel & freshly cut celery; while a full life adds notes of Piney Juniper, bitter orris root, zesty citrus & chocolate; that led to a balanced, clean yet elegant finish. Nothing fancy or particularly interesting. No distinct flavours however if you are after a simple relatively neutral well priced gin which makes a decent mixer then this will do the job. I wouldn't buy a bottle vs say Ki No Bi or Roots gins but if i was in a bar and asked for a G&T I wouldn't give this the cold shoulder...

Pretty citrusy for a London Dry, juniper is present but rather light and fresh, slightest bitterness, a little sweet, well balanced overall. Strong burn neat but refreshing with cold tonic. There appear to be different strengths of this gin, of which I've had the 47% version.

For such a low price, hayman managed to gain my fsbour over Bombay sapphire with its sweetness and citrus forward profile, while still maintaining the botanical and juniper base of a fine gin. Can't go wrong with this !

I thought that this was a wonderful find as I enjoy my gin with soda rather than tonic. Because the soda water is dry and the tonic sweet, I can taste and enjoy the botanicals in this excellent gin.

“only london dry gin that emphasizes citrus, while still maintaining the full proof and spicy mid-palate. the hayman family has been making gin in Greater London since 1863.”
