Iowa Legendary Rye Black Label

Nose- dark fruit, dark caramel Palate- cherry pie, lollipop sugar. Mouthfeel- sticky, heavy. Overall- some good rye sweetness upfront. Cut short by sticky sugar, just destroying the flavor and leaving a funky wetness with no rye spice. Finish of cheap licorice. Not impressed. 2 seconds of not bad, followed by what the.... just happened?

Good body - the bartender here at L. May told me it's not easy to get (limited production?), and I understand why. Very nice.
