About this bottle

This unusual Irish whiskey began with sourced grain and malt whiskeys both aged in ex-bourbon casks. The grain whiskey was then aged in mezcal and tequila casks and the malt whiskey was aged in mezcal casks, each component for seven months. The final blend is comprised of 60% 9 year grain whiskey and 40% 13 year malt whiskey with the agave barrel finishes. Named in honor of the Battalion San Patricos, Irishmen who fought for Mexico during the Mexican/American War of 1846-1848 after defecting from America.

Very unique, very light in color. “Vegetal” is a good description! Not my personally preferred type but definitely worthwhile, for its distinctiveness at the very least!

Kind of like green spot, that’s the base whiskey’s taste but the agave finish doesn’t work. Tequila/mezcal is clashing with the barley spirit notes.
