About this bottle

Batch 3 of this 10 Year Tennessee Whiskey is the latest release in the Jack Daniel's annual Aged Series. While previous batches will have slight variations, each was made with the same mash bill recipe (80% corn, 12% malted barley, 8% rye). They were also charcoal mellowed and aged in toasted and charred American white oak barrels. Initially, the barrels were placed in the upper floors of the barrelhouse before being relocated to lower racks to extend its maturation. It's bottled at 97 proof. Available in limited quantities across the US beginning February 2024. (SRP $84.99/700ml)

NOSE: Wet, charred maple wood. Red candy sweetness. Caramel oakiness. Very sweet nose. Could smell this for a long time. TASTE: Sweet oak. Clean entrance. Full of flavor for a sub-hundred. Almonds stored in an oak box. Very faint powdered hot-cocao note towards the end. FINISH: Slick and quick with oak tannins left residing in my gums. Only on the retro-nasal do I get any of the typical “Jack Banana” and it is more on the ‘still green from the grocery store’ spectrum of banana. I chased this hard and missed it at retail at our big box store in town. I found it at a local mom and pop and paid extra… is it worth MSRP? Yes if you are a specialty Jack Daniel’s fan (of which I am a BIG fan). Is it worth $119…? I am still trying to justify it in my head, but am still happy to add it to my collection, nonetheless. 85/100

Neck pour. Nose is amazing and really opens up as you let it sit. Palate reminds me of JD triple mash and that is not a bad thing thing by any means. Velvety texture and mouthfeel which distances itself from the triple mash comparison. Definitely some oak on there as well. Worth MSRP but as of now i wouldnt pay over when you can find the triple mash on the shelf for half the price. Loved the batch one 12 year and this one falls short imo. Looking forward to this opening up as i sip over time.

Boro Bourbon and Brews Nose : Inviting molasses and baking spices and carmel popcorn. First sip: Has all the expected classic bourbon notes you want. Real soft like silk finishes chocolate pie. Second sip: There is a sweet char note I can't find the words to describe. Overall I liked it! 2 thumbs up. One thing that surprised me is it doesn't have that banana not I get in majority Jack Daniels.

Might need to re-rate after drinking on ice, but drinking neat wasnt awesome for me. Flavor was good but bot great and it was a little hotter than expected. Decent finish that was kinda rough.

Hello I am Mat 4.8

The balance is exceptional. Its is not overly complex, but the subtle drying oak really matches the sweet and lightly spicy notes. For the proof, the mouth feel and finish are near perfect.

Toasted banana, caramel, brown sugar, and nutty nose with a dark chocolate, raw vanilla, burnt caramel, and oakey taste. Medium nutty and milk chocolate barrel finish.
