I have grown to appreciate this whiskey a little more here is a blind I did with this and a jd sib store pick.... After a few sips you can tell the difference. Because the bonded is a blend of many barrels, its more evened out, even though it might be a little more sweet and richer w more banana. The sib pick has a little smoke there, a little more dry but in a good way. The banana is there but with a little nuttiness on the back end. I get a little metallic on both noses tonight that transfers over to the sib's taste a bit. The bonded has a bit more oaky cardboard instead...... BUT WAIT.... ...AND IT TURNS OUT I CALLED THE POURS WRONG. I WAS SO SURPRISED I HAD TO GO POUR ANOTHER GLASS OF BONDED TO MAKE SURE I DIDN'T MIX UP THE BLIND. BONDED WINS. SO REVERSE MY NOTES THE BONDED WAS WHAT I THOUGHT WAS THE SIB.
About this bottle
This expression of Jack Daniel’s was introduced in 2022 as a permanent addition to the Jack Daniel’s Bonded Series. It is made using the brand’s traditional mash bill of 80% corn, 12% malted barley, and 8% rye, and adheres to all requirements of the Bottled-in-Bond Act: distilled by a single distiller in a single season, aged for at least four years in a government-bonded warehouse, and bottled at 100 proof. The packaging draws inspiration from the original 1895 Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey bottle. Offered in 700ml bottles, it made its debut in May 2022.

Aroma - typical notes.. Bananas, cherries and caramel. Love the Jack profile! Taste - Follows the nose… bananas, caramel, cherries.. brown sugars… really sweet but very enjoyable Overall - this isn’t complex, this isn’t mind blowing. But this is extremely well done for a BiB product. The flavors are present are bold.. there is very little “subtle” flavors here in my opinion. The viscosity is quite nice for 100 proof and creates a decent coating on the palate. The finish isn’t long but that’s how most 100 proofers go though. For the price, this is really good.. just wish it was 750 instead of 700 ml bottle
I enjoy pretty much everything that Jack Daniel’s has been putting out lately and really like the triple mash. That being said, I’ve wanted to try the bonded for a while. Nose - I get bananas, maple syrup, and a bit of nuttiness. Palate - The Palate follows the nose closely on this one. It tastes like a sweet banana bread to me with walnuts baked in. At the end I get a kind of bitterness. Finish - It’s a shorter finish. Overall I enjoy the bonded and think it’s worth a buy, but I prefer the triple mash. It has a similar profile with less banana and no bitterness on the end.
Jack Daniel’s black label, the standard Tennessee whisky, is not bad at all for a bottom shelf American whisky. It’s basically just a bourbon that undergoes the “Lincoln County Process” …but this wasn’t as good. Nose: you get that famous JD banana on the nose but this was like a mushy over-ripened banana that isnt too appealing and kind of funky. Taste: the banana goes away thankfully but nothing too special, this just tastes like Jack Daniel’s. Finish: short Pass on this. Disappointed.
Slightly banana on the nose. Body initially hits with a bunch of old and a little bit of pepper. Lots of sweet Stone fruit notes like fresh peach. As it transitions to the finish, I get peanut butter for days. Lots of nuttiness from the wood, and it's just peanut butter after peanut butter too close out the glass, and continues to linger. Would put in the category of a dessert, rather than a sipper.
This isn't your Old No. 7 Jack Daniels. On the nose i get primarily sweet caramel followed by some oak. On the palate it leads with more sweet caramel and some vanilla, followed by classic Jack banana amd some toasty oak. It finishes sweet with the banana, birnt sugar, and oak lingering. A very nice, inexpensive whiskey.
