Open 4 months Nose - Fresh green apple, cinnamon powder, white pepper, vanilla frosting, creme brulee, light oak, and strong ethanol. Palate - Red Hots, tart apples, bitter caramel, grilled corn, and barnyard hay. Finish is medium-long This one got so much hype, "Stagg killer", "best alternative to ECBP", yada yada. I have no idea what these YouTube reviewers are talking about. Jefferson's claims it is 8 years old on their website even though the bottle is NAS. This is the youngest 8-year cask strength bourbon I've ever had. It drinks hot and apple-y. The heat overwhelms the nose and palate, especially if it's your first drink of the day. I admit I was very interested to try a Jefferson's cask strength with age. Maybe this is a new direction for this overpriced and underwhelming brand? Based on this bottle, nope. It drinks like a lower end 4-year old MGP bourbon and doesn't come close to most bourbons in this price range.

NEAT NOSE - Caramel, Toasted Oak, Vanilla, and Brown Sugar. Perfectly balanced. PALATE - Unlike many bourbons at this proof point, this doesn’t drink hot at all. It’s just bold and full of flavor. The notes from the nose carry over to the palate with a viscous and chewy mouthfeel. FINISH - Medium in length. Caramel, Cinnamon, and Oak. BUY? - Absolutely. BUY AGAIN? - Yes. This was my first taste of Jefferson’s and I only bought it because of what others were saying. I’m glad to see they were not wrong!
Jeffersons did good with this one! At 130 the nose is too hot to get much, but you can get some honey, cinnamon and banana bread coming through. The finish is perfect. If you enjoy bookers and stagg, you’ll love this!
very viscous, mouth coating, and spicy, honey flavored. The proof shows itself, but is not objectionable. Nice medium to long finish. The price is right, considering the 8years and 130 proof. Good buy.
As everyone says, this is a spicy gal but i love it. Not very complex with traditional bourbon flavors. I like Mash & Drum’s comment on this: vanilla gasoline.
Nose: dried fruit, a little vanilla, honey or caramel Taste: a bit of cinnamon, vanilla, honey, and sweetness, rich and creamy, spice lingering, oak
