About as straightforward a bourbon aroma as you can get. Dig in and mild oak, stale honey roasted peanut butter, and a bit of fruit leather are perceptible. Given some time to breathe, sweet vanilla emerges along with woodsmoke. At this point too the dried fruit notes take shape in the form of apple, cherry, and a little apricot. All of this swims in a shallow sea of melted candy corn, maple syrup, and fairly tame spice. Lastly, cocoa and tobacco. The palate is sweet with all the classic bourbon flavors, but lacking in depth. There is brown sugar, vanilla, pepper, citrus peel, cherry, peanut, oak and spice including cinnamon and caraway seed. Tasty yet weak, and overly sweet like Canadian whisky. Thin in the mouth neat, and it struggles to stand up to an ice ball for long. Legs develop slowly, but melt away in a hasty retreat. The finish is on the short side, with some oak, dusky corn, and cherry lozenge. Nose: 8 Palate: 7 Body: 6 Finish: 7

Review #15 - Whisk(e)y #11 Nose - sweetness, with notes of vanilla and honey, which is quite pleasant. Palate - very spicy, peppery with a strong alcohol burn. There are still notes of vanilla, honey and oak in it, but the spiciness and burn are overpowering. There is also this strong taste of medicine on the palette which is very unpleasant. The spiciness seemed to be reduced with the addition of water, and the sweetenes was brought out. Finish - very short. I would not buy this, as there are many other whiskey alternatives for a bit more money, such as the Black Bush, or Tullamore Dew, or even Jack Daniels no.7, which have a dramatic increase in quality over this. 2.5/5, aquelas coisa né, meio do caminho, o básico do básico, bora Jim Beam 🍯🥃
This is a very decent go-to whiskey, and an easy sipper. Buttery popcorn, slightly creamy vanilla, bananas, peanuts, earthiness/vegetal characteristics, fresh oak, faint cherry, and spiciness in the back. Thicker and more oily than expected, with a long finish and aftertaste of corn, bananas and oak, and subtle bittersweet undertones. Flavors are subdued up front, but not off-putting and extremely easy to sip, but has a spicy burn on the very end. This reminds me of movie theater popcorn with the yellow butter, except without the salt, and reminds me of mellow corn in terms of the creamy buttery texture and flavor.
Nose initially just woody and charred, after airing out also a little vanilla and brown sugar or maple syrup and perhaps even a hint of fresh apple. Flavors sort of replicate the nose but more muddled together and with a mildly woody and charred as well as vanilla and popcorn aftertaste. Loses all nuances with coke, kinda just tastes like licking vanilla coke off a slightly charred piece of applewood. Not great, not terrible, safe enough of a fallback.
